Forged in the fires of social justice, Kenneth Edelin, Jr. is an unrelenting advocate for the underserved, underprivileged, and underrepresented. As our world changes, Ken believes those changes should reflect a greater share of fairness and equity for those who have long suffered in a system of oppression. Kenneth's criminal experience ranges from inception to trial and includes charges from DUI to Murder in both state and federal courts. Kenneth's career began with twelve years at the Defender Association of Philadelphia as a Trial Attorney, with the latter half at the Federal Office of the Defender Association of Philadelphia. After maintaining a stellar solo practice for ten years, Kenneth returned to the Defender's Association of Philadelphia as the Chief of the Major Trial Unit. Ultimately, after over 25 years of serving the indigent and working on behalf of the most neglected, mistreated, and undervalued citizens in our society, Kenneth joined van der Veen Hartshorn & Levin in 2022. His passion remains client-centered advocacy for those most challenged by historic injustice, discrimination, and powerlessness. It is that premise that has led to once again opening his own firm, and being blessed with a network of likeminded attorneys eager to help. Educated at Morehouse College and Howard University School of Law, Kenneth carries the torch by being a voice for the voiceless and standing up for the rights of individuals, families and small businesses owners. As a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and The Prince Hall Masonic Family, Kenneth's advocacy transcends the courtroom, and is manifested through participation in numerous charitable, social action, and community service events.
